Palatine
• Melissa D. McCloskey, 32, and Brent F. Lutsch, 33, both of the 100 block of South Bothwell Street, Palatine, were charged with endangering the life/health of a child. Reports said parents dropped their children at the home for a birthday party, and Lutsch drove the children, approximately 11 years of age, to a party restaurant in Vernon Hills in a box truck without seat belts rented by McCloskey. Lutsch was arrested at his home around 6:30 p.m. Feb. 14; McCloskey turned herself in Feb. 15.
• George M. Raess, 45, of the 1100 block of North Randville Drive, Palatine, was arrested around 2:25 a.m. Feb. 15 at Jane Adams and North Williams drives and charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, fleeing and eluding, and traffic violations after an officer stopped his car on the 1000 block of North Rohlwing Road. The officer was escorting Raess to his squad car when Raess ran back to his car and sped away. Reports said officers saw him toss cocaine out of his car and also found the drug in his wallet.
• Vandals slashed four tires on a 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck in an apartment lot on the 1500 block of Winslowe Drive between 12:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Feb. 16. Damage was estimated at $800.
• A motorist drove over 25 feet of grass at Heron Park, 1030 W. Whytecliff Ave., between 3 p.m. Feb. 13 and 12:30 p.m. Feb. 16.
• Burglars stole a radar detector and miscellaneous items out of a 2004 Saab convertible in an apartment lot on the 1400 block of East Evergreen Drive between 10:30 a.m. Feb. 16 and 9:30 a.m. Feb. 17.
