Des Plaines police: Man charged after resisting arrest

A Des Plaines man is facing charges after fighting with police officers responding to a domestic disturbance, authorities said Sunday.

Mark Szkutak, 33, of the 1100 block of Arnold Court, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Friday. He's charged with three counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, three counts of resisting arrest and one count of aggravated battery.

Police said they went to Szkutak's residence to respond to a domestic battery. Szkutak punched, kicked and bit three officers before they were able to subdue and arrest him, authorities said.

Szkutak and all three officers were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.
