CTA to reroute late night trains
Once again, the Chicago Transit Authority is alerting riders about rerouting and possible delays on its rapid transit lines.
The latest rerouting affects trains on the main north-south Red Line from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
The CTA says northbound Red Line service between the Fullerton station and Cermak-Chinatown stations will be rerouted from the subway to the elevated tracks Monday and Tuesday nights to permit crews to replace deteriorating rail ties.
Southbound Red Line service will be rerouted in the same way over the same hours beginning Wednesday through Friday morning.
The CTA is asking late-night riders to give themselves extra travel time throughout the period.
