Breast Cancer Support Group to check out wigs
Breast Cancer Support Hour: The Breast Cancer Support Hour gathered in early February to celebrate the beginning of a new year. The next meeting of the Breast Cancer Support Hour will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, in the meeting room of National City Bank, 13300 Route 47 in Huntley. Luann Bauer will share her personal journey with breast cancer, and also will bring samples of wigs and other items from her shop to show. Neighborhood 11: Neighborhood 11 is having a breakfast buffet Saturday, March 28, at the Golden Corral, 1591 S. Randall in Algonquin. This will be a great way to socialize and get to know your neighbors. Cost of the buffet for seniors is $8.34, which includes your beverage. There are 74 items on the buffet including an omelet station. Payment will be made at the cashier when you arrive, but the restaurant is asking for a head count. Sun City's N33 February Plans: N33, Meadow Estates, Sun City, is asking its residents to fill out a survey and return it to their street representative by April 1. The survey will be included in the February and March editions of Lifestyle. The results of the survey will be discussed at the quarterly business meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, Drendel Hall. The Tiara Tea Society: invites you to lunch at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Pinecrest Restaurant, 11220 Algonquin Road, Huntley. Low Vision: Speakers are set for Sun City Low Vision Group. March 16 has regular attendees sharing and telling about favorite devices and tips. On April 20, Rich King will speak. King is a nationally known TV sportscaster in the Chicago area and the author of the book "My Maggie."
These free meetings are presented by the Sun City Interest Group Visually Impaired Support and Assistance Group. Attendees having macular degeneration, diabetes, glaucoma and other low-vision issues learn from each other about resources, techniques and coping strategies that enable them to live their lives to the fullest. The group is open to all Sun City Huntley residents, their families and friends. VISA meets from 10 to 11 a.m. the third Monday of the month at the Prairie Lodge Drendel Ballroom A.
