Death cause still undetermined of baby found in Hanover Park

Hanover Park police on Saturday said a cause of death has still not been determined for a baby found unresponsive Friday morning.

Police were called to the 1600 block of Ontarioville Road around 7 a.m. Friday. Alexis Zavala, 6 months old, was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates and pronounced dead at 7:48 a.m., according to authorities.

An autopsy was conducted by the Cook County Medical Examiner on Saturday. The Medical Examiner is awaiting lab results before a final determination is made, police said.
