Mexico's Club America to play Fire at Toyota Park
The Chicago Fire and Club America have agreed to a home-and-home soccer series that will debut in April at Toyota Park in Bridgeview.
Details about the Fire's away match against Club America at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City will be announced at a later date, but Chicago's Major League Soccer franchise will host the Mexican Primera Division opponent at 7:30 p.m. April 29.
Fire president Dave Greeley said the organization is excited to face one of the most storied clubs from the Mexican First Division, and provide an opportunity to watch the Fire's Cuauhtémoc Blanco face his former team, Club America.
"The Fire's goal is to bring fans exciting soccer games and through international friendly matches such as this, we look to create even more memorable experiences for our fans at Toyota Park," Greeley said.
Individual tickets are available starting at $26 and go on sale at 10 a.m. March 12 through all Ticketmaster outlets, online at ticketmaster.com, at the Toyota Park Box Office, by calling 888-MLS-FIRE, or by visiting chicago-fire.com.
Fans can ensure a seat for the Club America exhibition by purchasing season ticket packages and 10-game plans, which are on sale now.
