Simple act would be much appreciated

One of life's little annoyances is finding a parking space blocked by a shopping cart which should have been returned to a nearby corral! Back in the day, carts couldn't be taken out of stores. This avoided costs from repairing damaged carts and for hiring help to bring them back in. Rather than show gratitude for the convenience of taking the carts to our cars, too many people are abusing the privilege by not even returning carts to the corrals.

Imagine how many more parking spaces there would be if we didn't need corrals!. Infirmity, an arm full of kids, or simply having an occasional bad day are all somewhat reasonable excuses for not returning/corralling carts properly. How should we deal with this? We need a coalition of the willing to offset this problem! How about, as long as you're going that way and will need a cart in the store, taking a mislaid cart in with you? If your timing is right, you can even relieve someone of their cart as they finish unloading it! This has always been greatly appreciated!
