All commandments should be obeyed
Almost every day, my "in" box holds one or two e mail messages from conservative friends anxious to "enlighten" me about some horrid misdeed of the Democrats in Congress, the cursed liberal media, some other left-leaning group or a particularly misguided Democrat. These missives all share one common trait: they are comprised of twisted facts, half truths and outright lies.
Sadly, the people sending me these angry, bitter, often hateful rants are all upright churchgoing folk who often remind me (incorrectly) that America was founded on Christian principles. They would rejoice to see the Ten Commandants prominently displayed in all schools.
Yet they reserve the right to pick and choose which of those rules they will obey. Most frequently disregarded, it seems, is the one that says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness."
