Poodle stolen from Arlington Heights pet store

A couple and their three children distracted employees before stealing a poodle from an Arlington Heights pet store on Tuesday, according to Arlington Heights police.

The theft occurred around 6:30 p.m. from Happiness is Pets, 15 W. Golf Road. The nine-week-old Toy Poodle was stolen by a white male in his late 30s who weighs about 180 pounds. The man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans, according to police. The woman was possibly pregnant and was wearing a white sweatshirt and black skirt, according to witnesses.

The couple's children were about 7, 5 and 1 years old. After stealing the dog, the family fled in a black Nissan Altima or Maxima.
