Golf course gets grant:
Young people will have more opportunities to learn to play golf at Lombard Park District's Western Acres Golf Course thanks to a grant the district received to support a Sticks for Kids program. The grant provides an equipment package of 10 sets of junior golf clubs, programming materials, bag tags and skill cards. Youths will receive free club rentals while supplies last throughout the season. Young people also can learn golf rules and etiquette at a workshops at the course, 2400 W. Butterfield Road. Police clarify fundraiser
Carol Stream police reported receiving several phone calls from residents asking about the Metropolitan Alliance of Police, a labor union representing police officers that has been soliciting donations. The department said the fundraiser is not endorsed by the department and does not benefit the village. For details, call police at (630) 668-2167.
Neuqua show takes stage
Neuqua Valley High School's multicultural show, "Coexist," takes the stage at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20-21, in the auditorium at 2360 95th St., Naperville.
