Blood, bone marrow sought
Faith World Outreach Church and LifeSource, an affiliate of the National Marrow Donor Program, are sponsoring a blood and marrow registry drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. To donate marrow, a small amount of blood is taken to look for matches already waiting on the list. Potential donors must be between the ages of 18 years and 60 years old, must complete a brief health questionnaire and sign a consent form to have their tissue type placed on the donor registry. The cost to be tested is $25, which is tax deductible. Donating blood is free. Faith World Outreach church is located at 1280 S. Route 59, Bartlett. To make an appointment, contact Donna Schiavone at (630) 540-0497. Walk-ins are welcome.
