Celebrate Mardi Gras at 162-year-old pub
Want a little history with your revelry? Long Grove's 162-year-old Village Tavern is throwing its first Mardi Gras Night starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. Put on a costume, mask or at least some beads and enjoy Cajun-inspired entrees and specialty Mardi Gras drinks in souvenir glasses.
Complimentary King Cake cupcakes, some containing the lucky plastic baby doll, will be given to each guest who has made a reservation.

Good Life Wednesdays
Enjoy some midweek mania with cheap drinks and dance hits spun by DJ Adolfo and DJ Lucy during Good Life Wednesdays at Crystal's Party Bar in Crystal Lake. Hosted by MC Cluskey. No cover charge plus $2 U-call-its and $3 everything else, including premium cocktails, import bottled beers and all bombs.

Wine tasting
Guests will sip and swirl through a unique selection of wines and enjoy complimentary small bites at Arrowhead Restaurant and Bar's special bimonthly Third Thursday Wine Tastings beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26. This Global Value Wine Tasting will feature wines from NewHarbor, Navarro Correas, Stellina di Notte, B & G Bistro, Chalone and Beaulieu Vineyards. Cost is $10 per person. Reservations recommended.
