Police looking to public for help in finding murder suspect

Carpentersville police turned to the public Tuesday for help in finding an Algonquin teen wanted on murder charges.

Anthony M. Domino, 18, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the Aug. 2, 2007, fatal shooting of 17-year-old Aaron J. Razo of Carpentersville. The charges were authorized Friday, but Domino remains at large.

"We consider him armed and dangerous," Police Cmdr. Tim Bosshart said.

Domino is described as Hispanic, about 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police said they searched his last known address on the 2400 block of Dawson Lane, Algonquin, and other locations before expanding the scope through a national police database Tuesday.

Authorities want to apprehend him before another man charged in Razo's shooting, 18-year-old Henry L. Black of Carpentersville, is scheduled to stand trial Monday on two counts of first-degree murder.

"If someone is in contact with (Domino), we ask they call their local police," Bosshart said. "We don't want anybody to try to take him into custody themselves."

Bosshart said he could not comment on Domino's involvement in the shooting or explain what led to new charges in an 18-month-old case. Black was charged days after the killing.

Razo, the youngest of 11 children, was shot once in the back as he and friends gathered at the Golfview School playground at Wakefield Drive and Bristol Lane.

Police have said a purple sport utility vehicle pulled up about 7 p.m. and one of its four passengers got out and opened fire - the result of an earlier dispute between two rival gangs.

The Kane County prosecutor handling the case was unavailable Tuesday, but the state's attorney's office typically does not comment on charges until the suspect is in custody.
