Kip Lewis joins broadcast staff at Comcast SportsNet
Comcast SportsNet in Chicago has hired veteran sportscaster Kip Lewis as its newest on-air talent member for the network's nightly sports news program, SportsNite.
Lewis, who will begin his on-air duties at Comcast SportsNet on March 2, will primarily handle on-site reporting duties for SportsNite covering a variety of Chicago's professional, collegiate and high school sports stories, along with occasionally co-anchoring the program.
Lewis most recently was a weekend sports anchor/weekday sports reporter for WRTV-TV, the ABC affiliate in Indianapolis, Ind., covering the city's local sports scene, in particular, handling beat reporting duties for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.
A former professional football player in the CFL, WFL and free agent signee for the Detroit Lions, Lewis graduated in 1989 with a degree in Communications from the University of Arizona, where he played Division I football. He is the son of former NFL star Sherman Lewis, a former defensive back for the New York Jets and longtime offensive coordinator for several NFL franchises.
