Relic hunter's body found in Madison Co.

GODFREY -- Authorities in southwestern Illinois say toxicology tests could help determine how a 27-year-old man died while hunting arrowheads.

Searchers on Sunday found Ryan Spears' body in a creek bed near Godfrey in Madison County. His car was parked about three-quarters of a mile away.

Authorities say Spears had been missing since leaving his East Alton home early Saturday.

Sheriff's Capt. Brad Wells says it appears Spears died after what Wells called a "medical event," and that the death did not appear suspicious or self-inflicted.

Wells says toxicology tests are planned.
