Blago's gone, now fix financial mess
To Michael Bond, State Senator, District 31: You have done your job in getting rid of Blago, but you and your cohorts bear some responsibility for all the costly legislation that he proposed and you passed.
Quinn is talking about new taxes and sacrifice. We are already sacrificing in our everyday lives with job losses and cutbacks. I recently lost my job, and I watch as Gurnee stores such as Circuit City and Linens and Things pass on.
What we need is fiscal responsibility and it is your job to provide that without raising a tax rate which ordinarily would be sufficient to run the state without programs like Illinois Kids rammed down our throats. Hospitals are forced to provide services and then do not get paid.
This is not fiscal responsibility. Please do your duty for your district and vote against higher taxes for Illinois.
