Waukegan murder suspect in custody

Waukegan police have a murder suspect in custody after a shooting Wednesday night.

Officers responded to an emergency call for shots fired on the 800 block of south King Drive at about 10 p.m.

They arrived to find a 30-year-old male bleeding from multiple gun shot wounds, according to police.

The victim was taken to Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan and was pronounced dead by hospital officials.

Witnesses say there was a fight between the victim and another 29-year-old male. The 29-year-old drew a gun and fired four bullets into the victim's torso, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
