Chicago unveils bid book being submitted to IOC

Chicago's Olympic committee is releasing details about its bid for the 2016 games.

Chicago 2016 today will reveal the contents of its bid book -- the same information it handed over in Switzerland on Thursday to the International Olympic Committee.

The so-called bid book is a response to 227 questions posed to Chicago and the other bid cities of Tokyo, Madrid, Spain, and Rio de Janeiro.

Among the areas to be covered in the book are environment and the games' legacy, and, significantly, financial details of the city's bid. .

Chicago's book is expected to stress the city's plan to host a compact games -- with an Olympic Village that will put 90 percent of the athletes within 15 minutes of their competition venues and training areas.
