Three hurt in Hanover Park house fire

Three people were hospitalized Monday night after a fire erupted at a Hanover Park house.

One person suffered a burned hand and two others suffered smoke inhalation, Hanover Park firefighters said. None of the injuries was believed life-threatening.

The blaze was reported about 6:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of Santa Anita Drive. It started in the house's garage and spread to a utility room in the house, Hanover Park firefighters said. The entire house was damaged by smoke, officials said.

The blaze was extinguished about 7:45 p.m.

Injured in the fire were two 15-year-old boys and a 21-year-old man. The teens were taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin, while the man was taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.

No other details were available about their conditions.

Assisting on the scene were firefighters from Bartlett, Roselle, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Itasca and South Elgin.

The blaze remained under investigation late Monday night.
