Indiana's Dumes again apologizes for flagrant foul

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana guard Devan Dumes again apologized for throwing the flagrant elbows in Saturday's loss to Michigan State that drew an indefinite suspension from his coach.

Tom Crean would not elaborate on how many games Dumes might miss but acknowledged he will definitely sit out Tuesday's game at Minnesota. Dumes is the Hoosiers' top scorer at 13.8 points per game.

Crean said Dumes' appearance at a news conference Monday was one way for the junior to learn his lesson, and Crean said the team is taking internal steps to avoid a repeat. He did not identify what the team was doing.

Crean also said there was another incident involving Dumes earlier this season, against Northwestern, that drew concerns from the Big Ten office.
