Wishes cemeteries would relax a little
Does anyone know why cemeteries are becoming so restrictive? They are constantly changing rules as far as plot owners being able to show their love and loss of a family member!
I went to visit my grandparents who are in Millburn Cemetery, and I could not believe the new sign, with even more restrictions than before - are they soon going to demand removal of head stones?
I can only think that the maintenance people, who are well paid, are trying to reduce the amount of work they do!
A cemetery in Winnebago, Ill. will not allow anything, like decorative stones, to encase your annual flowers so they will not mow them down, and even have gone to the extent now to not allow winter grave blankets! Many cemeteries are not allowing real flowers, or even artificial flowers. Why?
Some are not allowing flags for those who served our country and fought and died for these people who are now not allowing respect or love to be shown for those that did serve our country! Again why?
If some of them do approve of flags for Memorial Day or Fourth of July, they have to be removed by the end of the week or else! Is that respect for those who fought and died for our country, does everyone need to schedule their lives to appease the cemetery staff?
Don't ever consider putting a little hook with a solar light on it on your loved one's grave. Even if it is directly in front of the grave marker! Staff will immediately remove it! What, I wonder, do they do with them when they remove your property, sell them at a garage sale next week?
I know cemeteries can do what ever they want, because where else can you go with your loved ones, but is this restrictive attitude they have, not getting out of hand?
