Teen arrested in stepfather's stabbing death
COUNTRY CLUB HILLS -- Police in the south Chicago suburb of Country Club Hills have arrested a 14-year-old boy who fled after allegedly fatally stabbing his stepfather in the neck.
Police found the boy Sunday afternoon.
Thirty-four-year-old John Weatherspoon's death Saturday night was the fifth homicide in the community of 16,000 in 10 days. Authorities say he had taken the boy to task over a homework assignment.
Mayor Dwight Welch says Country Club Hills previously had three homicides over the last decade and the current murders are unrelated.
Earlier Saturday, authorities charged 27-year-old Jarrett Jones with the strangling murder of his 59-year-old mother, Sheryl Jones.
