Judge seals Kevin Fox's arrest record
A judge has sealed the records of a Wilmington's father's arrest in his 3-year-old daughter's death.
Will County State's Attorney's office spokesman Charles Pelkie says Judge Richard Schoenstedt sealed Kevin Fox's arrest file from the public Thursday. He says his office opposed Fox's request.
Hikers found Riley Fox's body in a creek four miles from her Wilmington home in June 2004.
Her father was charged with first-degree murder and criminal sexual assault. Kevin Fox spent several months in jail before he was exonerated on DNA evidence.
In December 2007, a federal jury awarded Fox and his wife, Melissa, $15.5 million in damages after the couple accused Will Count sheriff's deputies of fabricating evidence.
Riley Fox's murder remains unsolved.
