It's time to say 'No' to Democrats

Last summer I wrote an editorial in this paper about how it was time to say "No" to Democrats in Illinois. I talked about how Illinois Democrats were more concerned about their own political interests than that of the people of this state. In December, Gov. Blagojevich was arrested by the FBI on allegations that he was looking to sell the U.S. Senate seat. Since then, he has been impeached by the House. Following the arrest the call for a special election was sounded by Democratic leaders from Senator Durbin to Speaker Madigan. The Democratic leadership in the General Assembly failed the people of Illinois once again by not creating a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by President Obama. They did so for purely political reasons.

I am disgusted with the actions of former Gov. Blagojevich. I am even more disgusted with how the General Assembly, the only leadership we have right now in Illinois, decided against a special election because a Republican might have a chance at taking the seat, given the circumstances around Illinois Democrats today. This Senate seat belongs to the people of Illinois.

Illinois Democrats have once again failed the people of Illinois and come 2010 Republicans in Illinois need to be ready for a fight. 2010 will be a fight for a new direction for Illinois and a fight for our lives.
