Eating geese just not practical

In response to Larry Schneider's letter suggesting feeding geese to hungry people: I've had the experience of cleaning and eating these geese. Before I first attempted it, given the size, I thought one would feed the whole neighborhood. After completing the task, which was quite labor intensive, I found that there was about as much meat as a Cornish game hen. These geese are not raised for meat like store-bought birds. That's why they can fly so well. At first glance Mr. Schneider's idea seems like a good one. But given my experience, it's probably not worth the trouble unless you want to clean and eat several geese for a single family meal.
