U.S. can, should rally for cause
Jan. 20 will go down as one of the greatest days in our history for obvious reasons. It was nice to see Hollywood along with many other artists come out and support a popular cause and that being the support of our new administration and Barack Obama. Over 2 million people left their homes, jobs, families and class time to participate in the past few historical days. What if those same people had gone to Washington when we realized we were lied to about WMDs to get our kids back home, or for the heck of it went down to Crawford to support Cindy Sheehan in her protest, maybe we could have saved some of our servicemen and women's lives. How about to question our illegal immigration policies? Illegal immigration only costs our taxpayers $346 billion annually. How about to demand health care for everyone in the United States, I'm sure that $700 billion bailout would have covered it for a generation or two. Barack Obama can only be president for 8 years, and who knows what the future holds after that. We have just proven as a nation that we can get millions of people in Washington for an inauguration, maybe next time it will also be for a cause that will benefit the common good of the people.
