Science offers proof of intelligent design
This is a response to Lisa Williams' comments, in which she states that "Intelligent design is mythology" (Jan. 8 Fence Post).
Lisa states that "intelligent design has no basis in scientific fact or theory." This presupposes that anything that is not a scientific fact or a proven theory, does not exist; which in itself is unintelligent. What about those unknown facts and truths that have not been discovered by the scientific community yet? Do scientists know everything there is about the earth, how it was created, how the human mind works, who set the sun, moon, and earth into such perfect orbits.
I read an article recently, by a well-known and highly respected scientist, that said the odds of the earth, sun, and moon "accidentally" falling into a perfect orbit, where one in several hundred billion or so.
Many scientists are now admitting they see too much mathematical accuracy in the universe for this to have been an accident from some cosmic explosion.
And Lisa, I would like for someone to explain to the rest of the community how mankind evolved from another species, given the fact that we have free will and the ability to think and reason.
Christians believe these are God given gifts, not something evolved from another animal or species. But if you want to continue believing that you, personally, are the product of unintelligent design, I guess there's no one who can stop you. For the record, approximately 85 percent or more of the people in this country believe in God as their super-intelligent creator.
