Woman charged with sexual assault

A Cook County judge in Rolling Meadows Tuesday ordered a suburban woman held in jail on charges she sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl.

Elizabeth Garcia, 25, of the 1500 block of Norway Lane in unincorporated Palatine Township, was given a $200,000 D bond, meaning she must post 10 percent, or $20,000, to be released, said Penny Mateck, spokeswoman for the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Mateck said police received a complaint against Garcia on Saturday, but she did not have an exact date of the alleged assault. To protect the identity of the victim, no other details were immediately available.
