Kane Co. police group elects officers

The Kane County Chiefs of Police Association Jan. 15 held the annual installation of officers for the next year. The meeting, held this year in Batavia, was by attended by several elected officials and judges, as well as the general membership.

The officers for 2009 were sworn in by Chief Judge Keith Brown and are: president, James Lamkin, St. Charles Police Chief; vice president, Greg Anderson, Campton Hills Police Chief; Secretary, Robert Beeter, Elgin Deputy Police Chief; treasurer, Ed Dennis, retired West Dunde Police Chief; and sergeant at arms, Michael Gillette, Carpentersville Deputy Police Chief; and immediate past president, Joe Frega, retired, Commander at the Geneva Police Department.

The Kane County Chiefs of Police Association represents the various law enforcement agencies in Kane County. The membership is committed to communication and collaboration and coordination of services throughout the county and surrounding areas on policing issues and concerns.
