Recovered sumo suit wasn't really lost

I was stunned by the unsettling story behind the happy reunion of Grayslake Central High School teacher Katie Titus and her rented Sumo suit. Let me see if I have my facts correct: Motorist Brian Lizzo sees a Sumo suit and mat fly out of the open back of Katie Titus' pickup truck. Instead of calling the police to report the loss, Brian invokes the rule of "finders keepers" (i.e. theft) and gives the goods to his brother, Jason, to "play with' for a month. Jason is then outed by a neighbor who has read the Titus' sad story in the newspaper. After fessing up, Jason is then offered a reward which he "graciously" declines, but accepts Katie Titus' compliment for "stepping up" and returning the ill-gotten goods! Am I the only one who thinks that Brian and Jason Lizzo are at the very least guilty of personal moral deficiency or, at the very worst, criminal behavior?
