PADS thanks those who helped

As chairs of the "Elgin Stars Dance for PADS Winter Harvest for the Homeless" event Jan. 17, we would like to thank our honorary co chairs, Harry and Phyllis Blizzard; our sponsors, dance instructors, dancers, donors, volunteers, staff and attendees for making this year's event incredibly successful.

Although the temperature was in the single digits and there was a foot of snow on the ground, a large number of attendees ventured out to enjoy a festive evening. When the temperature falls and we have snow, it is helpful to remember the mission of PADS, which is to provide shelter and support services to the homeless of Elgin, Dundee and Hanover townships. With the opening of the permanent shelter, our needs are varied and more operation focused; and this event will assist in enabling us to continue with PADS' mission.

Saying thank you seems like such a small gesture for the amount of work and energy that went into this event, but we are extremely grateful to all who made this event a huge success!
