Palatine man charged in forgery probe

A 22-year-old Palatine man has been charged with forgery in connection with a U.S. Customs investigation.

Authorities allege that Gerardo Zamora-Gomez, of the 500 block of Spruce Drive, sent his paycheck from a restaurant to his uncle in Mexico and received back 108 counterfeit checks in the amount of $782.20, according to information released Saturday in Cook County Circuit Court in Rolling Meadows.

Bond was set at $75,000 with the next court appearance Feb. 27.
