Illinois doesn't need any more big egos
Roland Burris acts as the anointed one. I thought I'd heard it all about ambition and our President until I read the AP article "Low profile, high ambition."
Roland Burris thought it was a good idea to dedicate a tablet in a cemetery to himself, starting with the very humble words, "trail blazer" in caps no less. So a politician who lost his last four elections thinks he has a good shot at being in a state which "will be the Land of Burris," to use the exact words he spoke after a losing run for Senate back in 1984.
Just what the state of Illinois needs. Another huge ego. No wonder Blagojevich wanted this guy hand-picked by him.
This anointment is just one more reason for Illinois to retain the bad reputation it currently enjoys. Guess it's obvious the politicians don't think we are smart enough to elect a competent Senator.
