A morning fire at 40 Laurel Trail in Wheeling burned down a detached garage and everything inside it, including a car. No one was hurt. When firefighters arrived at the scene around 8 a.m., the blaze was already burning intensely and threatened neighboring homes. It took crews about half an hour to get the fire under control. The fire caused minor damage to a nearby house, boat and fence. Firefighters estimated the damage at $20,000. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
