Most workers not able to do these jobs

President Obama is fashioning his stimulus package, when all is said and done that will be north of $1 trillion.

The plan is geared toward creating 3 million to 4 million jobs, with 20 percent of those jobs being allocated to new government positions. At minimum that is 600,000 new government jobs.

Jobs that will do what? We all know that once these jobs are filled they will never be abolished. Isn't it a bit strange that as the private economy is shrinking the public sector is ramping up to do whatever it is it will do? A heavy emphasis of this stimulus package will go to infrastructure projects that will require skilled "UNION" membership to perform.

Look around your neighborhood and at friends and loved ones and see how many of them know how to wield a jackhammer, drive a dump truck, operate heavy-duty earthmovers, pour concrete or do the necessary surveying work required of major infrastructure projects.

One can argue about the need for these types of projects and their long-term benefit to the country as a whole. However, one can argue that this spending will not have much of an impact on the creation of those 3 million new jobs.

For all those non-construction skilled, nonunion, middle management and factory workers, your best bet might be buying stock in Caterpillar and cement and steel companies who will most definitely benefit from this union membership-oriented stimulus package.
