Semi, cars crash on Route 53 nears Higgins

Police officials are working to clean up an accident the involved a semi-trailer and three cars on northbound Route 53 near the Higgins Road exit ramp, police officials said.

The accident, which took place at about 8:30 a.m., snarled the northbound lanes of Route 53 even though the accident was pulled to the shoulder after only 10 minutes, officials said.

No one was injured in the accident, but state police officials did not have details of the accident immediately.
