No injuries in multi-car accident on Route 59 in Naperville

Police and fire crews were on the scene of a multi-car accident that took place at about 6:45 a.m. on Route 59 in Naperville.

Police dispatchers said more than two cars were involved in the accident that took place in the northbound lanes of Route 59 at the I-88 intersection.

However, they said, no one was injured in the accident and the situation had been cleaned up by 7:15 a.m.

The right lane of northbound Route 59 was shut down while police and fire crews worked the scene. Also, the left lane of southbound Route 59 was shut down for about 10 minutes while crews worked at the scene.

Police have not released details on what caused the accident or announced whether citations have been issued at this time.
