Aurora University to expand free tax service
AURORA - Aurora University's Dunham School of Business will expand its free income tax-form preparation service with a health expo offering free blood pressure checks and memory screenings for taxpayers. For a seventh consecutive year, the Internal Revenue Service has approved AU to prepare tax returns free for the public in the IRS' Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
The program will be offered from 8 to 11 a.m. on six Saturdays: Feb. 21, 28, March 7, 21, 28, and April 4.
The location is the lobby of Dunham Hall, 1400 Marseillaise Place, Aurora. No reservations are accepted.
The free service is available to low-income, elderly, and disabled taxpayers, including non-English speaking taxpayers. The income limit is $50,000. Bilingual college students will provide translation assistance for Spanish-speaking taxpayers.
