Our elected officials have let us down

Unemployed Americans - 10 million and growing, $647 billion in real estate losses, $523 billion mutual funds losses, our annual foreign trade deficit $250 billion, national debt $10 trillion, and millions losing their homes. We have also suffered from imported poisoned pet food, imported poisoned pharmaceuticals, and worst of all imported poisoned toys endangering our children. These are the results of the policies implemented by our congressmen and President.

They continue to pass legislation to benefit their wealthy campaign contributors to the detriment of the American people. Where is the outrage?

What will it take to get the American people to wake up? Will it finally be the theft of $750 billion more from our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren? All the news outlets broadcast the falsehood of our government bailing out the special interests. In reality, it is the taxpayers who are bailing out the special interests. The bailout is benefiting only the friends of those in office. The wealthy bankers, CEOs and foreigners are the ones receiving the bailout dollars.

Illegal wiretaps on American citizens are conducted and the executives of the telecom companies are given immunity from prosecution. Electronic voting machines bring into question the results of our votes. Our freedoms of speech, assembly, possessions and others have been trampled. Our Bill of Rights no longer exists.

Unregulated financial institutions have destroyed countless retirement investments. George Bush's approval rating was abysmal but Congress' was even lower.
