Carpentersville planning and zoning commission seeks member
Individuals interested in serving on the Carpentersville Planning and Zoning Commission are encouraged to submit a letter of interest to President Bill Sarto, Village of Carpentersville, 1200 L.W. Besinger Drive, Carpentersville, IL 60110, no later than Friday, Jan. 30.
The planning and zoning commission holds public hearings or meetings, deliberates findings, approves or denies applicant requests, and makes recommendations to the village board of trustees regarding zoning variances, text amendments, special use permits and planned unit developments, zoning map changes, and appeals from building or zoning code provisions.
The commission is also responsible for preparing the official plan (comprehensive plan) for the village and for ensuring that its decisions and recommendations promote the goals of the official plan as well as comply with state laws and local ordinances.
The commission meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. It is necessary that commission members review meeting materials before each meeting. It may also be necessary for members to occasionally conduct site visits and attend outside training sessions that may be provided.
