3-month-old baby found dead in squalid apartment
Police in Chicago say officers found a dead 3-month-old boy in a crowded, filthy apartment on the city's northwest side.
Authorities say the infant was pronounced dead at a hospital Tuesday after officers received a call about a death in the apartment in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood.
Chicago police spokesman Dan O'Brien says officers found 10 other children living in the apartment and all were taken to the hospital for evaluation because the space was so dirty it posed a "health hazard."
Police say the apartment was roach-infested and scattered with food and garbage. Authorities say an investigation is ongoing.
