There's no easy way to define 'American'

So Ron Petrucci wants everyone to buy American.

Well, as an example, would you buy a car from GM, an American-owned company but manufactured outside of this country? Or would you buy from one of the foreign companies who have manufacturing operations in this country?

What would you do, Ron, about foreign investment in GM, Ford or Chrysler? Also, with American investment in 'foreign' companies?

Plus, how would you identify the raw materials and finished goods used in production in either case? These are all transnational companies whose only allegiance is to profit along with currency manipulation in the worldwide marketplace. Good luck in identifying this concept of buying American.
