Kudos to Weisner on campaign donations
During the past couple of years, it seems that pay-to-play politics, the politics of Rod Blagojevich, have pervaded the state of Illinois. Every politician seems to be looking for a payday, as interest groups look to control state government through campaign contributions. This is why I was very happy to see that Mayor Tom Weisner put a limit on the amount of money a person could contribute to his campaign. It is nice to see a politician who truly wants to meet the needs of those who elected him instead of kowtowing to lobbyists who only look out for their parochial interests. I think Mayor Weisner is an example of the honest politics we need in Aurora and in Illinois.
