2 more students file strip search lawsuits
Two more Chicago Public Schools students have filed lawsuits claiming they were illegally strip searched at school.
According to one lawsuit, a former eighth-grade girl at Perspectives Charter Middle School was allegedly told to strip to her underwear last month while a security guard and police officer looked for a razor blade.
In the other, an 11th grader at Fenger High School was allegedly told to remove his pants in a drug search.
The lawsuits were filed Friday.
Chicago schools spokesman Mike Vaughn says the district is investigating.
At least one other similar case was filed this month.
Two 14-year-old girls claim an off-duty Chicago police officer illegally strip searched them to find a lighter. The incident allegedly took place at ASPIRA Early College Charter High School.
