Rollover crash sends two to hospital
A rollover accident Friday afternoon on Randall Road in Algonquin sent two people - including one child - to hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities said two sport utility vehicles collided at about 1:22 p.m. at the intersection of Randall Road and Commons Drive, an entrance to the Algonquin Commons shopping center.
Luis Nunez, 16, of Pingree Grove, and three friends were behind the vehicle that ended up on its roof.
"The mother was pregnant and she started screaming, "My baby. My baby,'" Nunez said. "We saw the 3-year-old girl hanging upside down in her car seat."
Battalion Chief Fred Schau of the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District said two people were taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock with minor injuries. Schau said one patient was a child, but no other information was immediately available.
Schau said the crash remains under investigation by the Algonquin Police Department.
