Burned body found in a car at Elk Grove Village office building
A body was found burned almost beyond recognition this morning in a car at an office building parking lot in Elk Grove Village.
"We don't even know if it's a man or a woman," said a spokeswoman in the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. "It's burned pretty bad."
Elk Grove police were called to the scene about 7 a.m. The car, a tan Mercury Sable, was in a back parking lot at 141 Northwest Point Blvd. It was not in a proper parking space, but was stopped in the middle of the lot. The body was apparently found in the cabin, and the blaze burned out the car windows.
Police were working on an identification and the cause of death.
