Schaumburg Flyers add two to coaching staff

The Schaumburg Flyers have announced two additions to the 2009 coaching staff. Field manager Mike Busch has bolstered his staff with pitching coach Jim Miksis and hitting coach Brian Nelson.

Nelson will begin his third year in the Chicagoland area after spending 2007 as hitting coach for the Northern League champion Gary SouthShore RailCats. In 2008, Nelson served half a season as Field Manager/Director of Baseball Operations for the 2008 Frontier League champion Windy City Thunderbolts.

"I'm looking forward to working with Mike Busch and the Flyers to help guide the team toward a championship in 2009," Nelson said.

Jim Miksis also comes to Schaumburg from the Windy City Thunderbolts. Miksis worked in the Florida Marlins' organization in 2007, and before that served as a scout for the Boston Red Sox, and a pitching coach for Faulkner University and Brewton-Parker College.

"I jumped at this opportunity to work with Mike Busch," Miksis said. "It's a perfect situation for me to do my best and work under great people."
