Bail set for man arrested at Midway with gun

Bail has been set at $50,000 for a south suburban Chicago man who allegedly attempted to board a plane at Chicago's Midway Airport with a gun.

Russell T. Kess is the third person in the last month who police say tried to bring firearms into Chicago airports. The 46-year-old South Holland resident said he was on his way to see Barack Obama's inauguration in Washington.

Chicago police say a Transportation Security Administration officer found a loaded pistol inside KessÂ' carry-on.

Twenty-seven-year-old Berwyn resident Rodolfo Durate was arrested Jan. 8 for attempting to carry a weapon into O'Hare International Airport. Two days later, O'Hare screeners found a handgun and ammunition in 47-year-old Indiana resident Goce Stojanovski's handbag.
