Police investigate 'suspicious package' to Daley
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Chicago Police Department's bomb and arson squad is investigating a "suspicious package" that was addressed to Mayor Richard Daley.
Police said the package turned out to be harmless and no injuries were reported.
The package was an envelope covered in Christmas wrapping paper and was sent to City Hall Sunday morning. It also had bubble wrap inside.
Authorities say the mail sorters at City Hall detected something "suspicious" about the package after it went through a security monitor.
Chicago police spokeswoman Antoinette Ursitti says the department's bomb and arson squad responded around 9 a.m. and determined the contents of the package weren't harmful.
