Mike Zasadil, Fox River Grove
Cary-Grove High School senior Mike Zasadil won't just be a spectator at the inauguration festivities.
The 18-year-old Fox River Grove resident will speak to about 500 fellow students at the Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference, a leadership event held every four years in the nation's capital.
Zasadil says he was chosen to speak at the conference after he delivered the keynote address at a recent session of the National Youth Leadership Council.
"I couldn't believe it," he said. "I was just grateful for the opportunity."
Zasadil's speaking gig will allow him to watch the inauguration and the inaugural parade, visit national monuments and potentially introduce Lance Armstrong or Gen. Colin Powell.
